On Location: Night Views From the Witch Outpost

View of Mt. Badacsony and Lake Balaton in Hungary

Today, we are going to travel back to Lake Balaton at night!

In Teeth and Thorns (Episode 7 of The Stone Sea), Zalka continues her journey through the night. Below, I'm going to show you some of the sights she sees on her walk up to the Witch Outpost. These are photos I've taken on the real-life inspiration of her mountain.

First, here's a picture of Mt. Badacsony, one of the witness mountains, a remnant of an ancient volcano. The photo was taken half-way up Mt. Örs.

Next up is a view of the southern shore of Lake Balaton from Mt. Örs. This is high up where the forest starts. The little mountain peak across the lake is part of Fonyód.

And finally, here's a view of what is called an 'ezüst híd', or silver bridge cast by the moon on Lake Balaton. To the right, you can see the harbor of Badacsony. Sorry, I took this without a camera stand, so it's not the clearest image but I really wanted to share it. There's something so magical about a full moon above the lake, don't you think?
